Your Guide to Joint Replacement

Pre-Admission Testing & Patient Education

Prior to your joint replacement surgery, certain laboratory and diagnostic tests (i.e. EKG) will be required. You will also need to receive medical clearance, provide a medical history, and take a physical. You may also be required to donate your own blood (autologous donations) two or three weeks prior to surgery.

Please stop all herbal supplements two weeks prior to your surgery and any aspirin or anti-inflammatory agents, which could cause a slowing of your blood's ability to clot. Our surgical scheduling staff will guide you through this process.

Please bring x-rays pertaining to your joint replacement surgery on the day of your admission and surgery.
