Wrinkles

There are several different types of wrinkles. There are fine lines, like the cross hatching one can see underneath the eyes, which develop in our late 30’s and 40’s. This is due to the thinning of skin and the loss of fatty tissue underneath. Second are the lines of motion, the crease in the area between the brow, the horizontal lines across the forehead, and the “crows feet” lateral to the eyes. These are caused by the exertion of muscle action on a weakening skin. Chronic sun damage and cigarette smoking can increase wrinkles. Finally, there are creases or folds which are caused by fat loss and pockets of fat.
