Code Review & Crisis Mgmt for the Critical Care RN
Summary:This four-hour course is designed to prepare the critical care nurse for a Code Blue or medical crisis situation.
Description:
The first portion of the course reviews how to check the code cart, the contents of the code carts, primary and secondary ABCD assessment for the critical care nurse, the nurse’s role, the roles of the code team members and how to correctly complete the Code Blue/White resuscitation record.  The second portion of the course is conducted in the simulation lab. Hands-on crisis situations are created using SimMan. This hands-on portion of the course allows the nurse to practice, in a purely learning environment, how to react to crisis or emergent situations. Space is limited in this course so please register early!
