Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (Camden)
Summary:This program is designed to empower hospital staff to recognize verbal and non-verbal cues that an individual is becoming agitated and to intervene at the earliest possible level.
Description:

This highly interactive program is designed to empower hospital staff with the necessary skills in order to RECOGNIZE both the verbal and non-verbal cues that an individual is becoming agitated and to intervene at the earliest possible level in order to prevent and/or de-escalate individuals exhibiting increasingly anxious, disruptive or assaultive behaviors.

Although a portion of the training will include teaching hands on safe physical control techniques for staff who may find themselves in situations that pose immediate danger to themselves and need to get away THE GOAL of this training is not to place emphasis on physical intervention measures but how to effectively RECOGNIZE identifiable stages of anxiety escalation and how to proactively VERBALLY prevent, de-escalate and/or help a co-worker de-escalate a confrontational situation.

This is a very important program as it will prove valuable in helping Cooper to continue to provide the best possible patient care while ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
