Jeffrey P. Carpenter, MD is Professor and Chief of the Department of Surgery at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Camden, NJ and Chief of Surgery for the Cooper Health System. Formerly, he was Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
A board certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Carpenter’s clinical specialties include conventional and endovascular abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery, carotid artery procedures (surgery and angioplasty with stenting) and bypass surgery. Dr.Carpenter has been active in the development of minimally invasive endovascular techniques for vascular surgery. He is the principal investigator of numerous endovascular device trials.
Dr. Carpenter recently hosted a PBS special on aortic aneurysm disease for the Healthy Body Healthy Mind series entitled "AAA: The Silent Killer". He has been honored by America’s Top Doctors, Best Doctors in America, America’s Top Surgeons, Philadelphia Magazine’s “Top Doctor” award and numerous other clinical and professional awards. He has authored over 200 scientific publications and is a member of several editorial boards including Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and the Journal of Vascular Surgery.
