Dr. Principato graduated from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. with a BA degree in 1942 and M.D. degree in 1945. He spent two years in the Army Reserve Corp as a physician and on his return did a five-year residency in General Surgery at Cooper Hospital Health System (1948-53). He spent nine months during this time at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine.
Dr. Principato remained in the Camden Area for his entire surgical career following his father's medical career in Camden, New Jersey. His surgical affiliations are first and foremost with Cooper Health System but also associated with Jefferson University as an instructor in Surgery and emeritus with Virtua and Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center.
Medical Memberships include, AMA, ACA, Hawthorn Surgical Society, Camden County Medical Society, American Society of Abdominal Surgeons and Special Association in the Royal Society of Medicine, College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and Counsel to the Dean of Georgetown University Medical School.
