Cardiac Catheterization & Interventional Cardiology

Three catheterization laboratories are fully equipped with the latest technologies to offer comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for both cardiac and peripheral vascular interventions.

DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES

  • Right and left heart hemodynamic studies
  • Cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, left ventriculography
  • Coronary intravascular ultrasound Intracoronary velocity and coronary flow reserve measurements
  • Carotid, cerebral, and renal vascular angiography

THERAPEUTIC TECHNIQUES

  • Percutaneous transluminal coronary balloon angioplasty (PTCA)
  • Coronary stent placement
  • Directional and rotational coronary artherectomy !ntracoronary radiation therapy (brachytherapy)
  • Closure of patent foramen ovale
  • Valvuloplasty

Cardiovascular Surgery

The cardiovascular surgery program provides the full range of surgical procedures utilizing standard, minimally invasive and off-pump technology, including:

  • Coronary artery bypass grafting
  • Valve repair and replacement
  • Aortic surgery
  • Transmyocardial laser revascularization (TMR)

Echocardiography

The Cooper Heart Institute offers comprehensive echo services including:

  • Stress echocardiography
  • Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
  • Contrast echocardiography

Electrophysiology

The Cooper Heart Institute offers extensive diagnostic and therapeutic arrhythmia services including:

  • Tilt table testing
  • Holter and transtelephonic arrhythmia monitoring
  • Catheter ablation
  • Pacemaker implantation and follow-up Cardioverter/Defibrillator implantation and follow-up
  • Implantation of bi-ventricular pacers

We offer both standard exercise stress testing and a variety of nuclear studies, including:
