Cardiology Research
Because of its clinical research, the Cooper Heart Institute provides access to more innovative treatment options than any other program in South Jersey.
Drs. Parrillo and Hollenberg are veterans of the esteemed National Institutes of Health, (NIH) and their leadership provides the foundation for an exemplary clinical research program. Clinical trials are underway in all the areas of cardiovascular disease, including lipid studies, acute myocardial infarction interventions, arrhythmia management, heart failure and cardiogenic shock studies.
The physicians associated with the Cooper Heart Institute are also respected educators at the prestigious University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Cooper. This puts them at the very forefront of new developments in cardiac care. So it is not surprising that the cardiovascular disease fellowship positions at Cooper University Hospital are among the most sought after in the country. Currently, there are fourteen cardiovascular disease fellowship positions at Cooper, including: clinical cardiology, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology.
Cooper’s cardiac care physicians couple unparalleled expertise with a compassionate concern for each and every patient. They provide inpatient and outpatient services in Camden and at a wide variety of other convenient locations throughout the South Jersey region.
