The Ability to Communicate is Our Most Human Characteristic
Our communication system involves speaking, hearing and understanding the speech of others as well as reading and writing. It is essential to learning, working and social interaction and plays a vital role in all aspects of everyday life in education, our jobs, our families, and recreation. When communication processes are impaired by disorders of speech, hearing or language, the effects may be serious. Communication impairment is the most common disability in the United States. One out of every ten Americans (42 million people) and the lives of their families are affected by communication disorders.
Our Staff
