Welcome to Voorhees Surgery Center

The Voorhees Surgery Center is a Cooper University Hospital affiliated ambulatory surgery center, developed to provide tri-state area residents with a multi-specialty outpatient facility.  With recent advances in medical techniques, an increasing number of surgeries are being performed on an outpatient basis, eliminating the need for an overnight hospital stay.  Operations such as arthroscopies, cataract surgery, gallbladder removal, hernia repairs, tonsillectomies, and cosmetic cases are routinely being done in ambulatory settings.

Elderly patients often inquire if they are eligible for care in an ambulatory center.  At any age, underlying medical conditions can increase the risk of surgery which is why it so important to have a complete medical evaluation.  Your physician and anesthesiologist will then determine if you are a candidate to have your procedure done as an outpatient.

There are several benefits of having surgery in an ambulatory setting.  The cost is lower because you do not have to pay for hospital related charges (such as a room), not as many delays in care occur because there are rarely emergency cases or prolonged surgical procedures, and there is less stress due to the fact that you can go home after the case making your recovery more convenient and comfortable.

Operating RoomThroughout your short stay at the Voorhees Surgery Center, our staff will make every attempt to help you feel relaxed and comfortable.  You will talk to and/or meet various members of the health care team including Business Office staff, Registered Nurses, Technicians, Anesthesia providers and of course, your Physician.  We have prepared this web site so that you will be informed about having a procedure at the Voorhees Surgery Center.

Many patients want to know what to expect when they return home.  You will be given written and verbal instructions prior to leaving about any specific procedures you should follow (showering, wound care, etc.), pain management, and who to contact with questions or concerns.  It is common to be tired and/or uncomfortable for the first 24 or 48 hours.  We will follow-up with you by telephone the day after your procedure to see how you are doing.

The Voorhees Surgery Center is conveniently located at Cooper at Voorhees, 900 Centennial Boulevard, Suite E,  Voorhees, New Jersey.  The main telephone number is 856-325-6505.  We offer free on-site parking for our patients.
