Parking Garage Leads the Way in Campus Expansion

The first major step in the Cooper campus renovation and expansion has been completed with the opening of the new Camden County Improvement Authority Parking Center. It's located directly behind Cooper University Hospital between Benson Street, Broadway and Stevens Street.

“This 1,604-space parking garage is an enormous improvement for Cooper patients, visitors and staff, as well as for other organizations that will use the facility,” said John Schwarz, Vice President, Facilities & Support Services. Of those 1,604 spaces, several hundred spaces are reserved for patients and visitors while 910 have been set aside for employee use in a separate gated area.

Entering and exiting the garage is faster for patients, visitors and employees as there are two lanes available for entering the garage, one of which is for employees only, and two dedicated lanes for exiting. Both the new CCIA garage and the existing Haddon garage at Three Cooper Plaza are equipped with new revenue controls and gate systems which accepts all major credit cards as an added convenience for our visitors.

A canopied walkway leads from the new garage to the Dorrance Building entrance at the rear of the hospital. Security is on-site 24/7 to assist visitors.

Via Route 130, Route 38 and Route 70, follow Route 30, also known as the Admiral Wilson Boulevard, west for approximately 2 miles. Take the exit for Martin Luther King Boulevard toward Campbell Place and the Adventure Aquarium. Bear right at the top of the ramp and, at the third traffic light, turn left onto Haddon Avenue. Then, make a right at the traffic light onto Benson Street. The entrance for One Cooper Plaza will be on your immediate right and parking is available in a garage located directly behind the hospital at the corner of Benson Street and Broadway.

Via Route 42 North and the Walt Whitman Bridge, follow I-676 to exit 5A. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Martin Luther King Boulevard. At the next light, turn left onto Haddon Avenue. Then, make a right at the traffic light onto Benson Street. The entrance for One Cooper Plaza will be on your immediate right and parking is available in a garage located directly behind the hospital at the corner of Benson Street and Broadway.

Via the Ben Franklin Bridge, keep right after crossing into New Jersey and follow route I-676 to exit 5B for Market Street. At the end of the ramp, get into the left land and make a left at the first traffic light onto Haddon Avenue. Then, turn right at third traffic light onto Benson Street. The entrance for One Cooper Plaza will be on your immediate right and parking is available in a garage located directly behind the hospital at the corner of Benson Street and Broadway.
