Pediatric Endocrinology
The Children's Regional Hospital at Cooper is the only hospital in the South Jersey providing the services of board-certified pediatric endocrinologists. Infants, children, and adolescents are evaluated and treated for hormonal problems by a staff of physicians, a nurse specialist, a nutritionist and a social worker.
Our pediatric endocrinologists provide expert diagnosis and treatment for children with diabetes, short stature, thyroid dysfunctions and other endocrine abnormalities.
Evaluation and Treatment
We offer comprehensive evaluation and treatment of endocrine-related disorders such as:
- Diabetes
- Growth disorders (including growth hormone deficiency)
- Thyroid diseases (congenital or acquired)
- Disorders of puberty (early or delayed)
- Ambiguous genitalia
- Adrenal diseases
- Pituitary diseases
- Disorders of calcium and phosphorus metabolism
- Turner Syndrome

- Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient diabetes program
- Evaluation of the newborn who fails the congenital hypothyroid screening test
- Complete growth evaluation and treatment
- Evaluation and treatment of girls with Turner syndrome
- Performance of specialized endocrine stimulation tests of the adrenal and pituitary glands
Communication
Our staff believes that good communication with the family and the referring physician is essential to good care of youths with endocrine problems. Therefore, we are always in close contact with everyone involved in a patient's care.
Cost of Services
Costs of evaluation and treatment may be covered by conventional health care insurance plans, HMO's and Medicaid.
