Community Sponsorship
Cooper’s mission is to be “an academic medical center committed to world-class patient care, education, and research resulting in a healthier community.” We recognize that the best way to accomplish our mission is through support of worthy community organizations and events.
The following sponsorship guidelines are designed to help determine what organizations will be considered. These guidelines ensure that the process is fair and equitable and supports our mission to serve the healthcare needs of South Jersey and the region.
Procedure/Guidelines:
- All sponsorship by Cooper requires completed application, written approval and permission in advance through the below procedure.

- All types of sponsorships and all types of solicitation are included in this policy including (but not limited to):
- Ad books
- Community Events - walks, runs, auctions, golf outings, etc
- Donations
- Event participation or contribution
- Medical Equipment Services
- Logo Items/Giveaways
- Fundraising Dinners
- School fundraisers
- Cooper intra- and inter- office events to support a cause
- The organization supported must be a not-for-profit organization.
- The event organizer must obtain necessary permits, licenses or insurance.
- Cooper shall not be financially or otherwise liable for the promotion or staging of events. In the event insurance is requested for any sponsorship event, the Sponsorship Application must provide details regarding the need for insurance and the proposed source of funding for insurance.
- Sponsorship requests which most closely match the following criteria will be given priority:
- Consistent Goals: The organization’s goals must be consistent with Cooper’s Mission Statement.
- Healthcare and community goals: Priority will be given to organizations with direct relationships to clinical, corporate and leadership goals of Cooper.
- Geographic Area: Priority will be given to organizations within our vision area, which encompasses the 20 blocks surrounding Cooper (Cooper Plaza/Lanning Square). Secondary consideration will be given to organizations within our core counties of Camden, Burlington and Gloucester. Final consideration will be given to organizations in Southern New Jersey and to those requests from our service areas outside New Jersey.
- Cooper must receive recognition for sponsorship participation. An explanation of this recognition must be provided in writing and shall accompany the Application prior to event.
- The Sponsorship Committee shall approve or decline each Application based primarily on the foregoing factors. Approval of any Application shall be at the complete discretion of the Sponsorship Committee.
- Requirements for Applications for Sponsorship which are approved:
- Cooper logo must be consistent with Cooper graphic standards. These logo standards will be provided upon request.
- Cooper may request to review in advance all copy for invitations, advertisements, press releases, posters or other promotional information related to your event.
- The sponsoring organization or individual must seek approval from Cooper to repeat an event in each succeeding year.
