Cooper in SchoolCooper in Schools is a multidisciplinary program of Cooper University Hospital, committed to providing health and wellness education to students, teachers, allied health care providers, and communities within in the Delaware Valley resulting in a healthier community.  Whether Cooper’s programs are at the schools or the hospital, we are committed to bringing you and the community, education to live a safe, healthier and more productive life.

Cooper University Hospital continues to be a leader in the community and region with leading physicians, cutting edge programs and services.  Education is the pillar within these programs and services at all levels.  Cooper in Schools strive to;

  • Provide teachers, administrators, and other staff easy access to health information and health professionals.
  • Provide programs which will assist teachers, administrators and other staff to work with students presenting health problems.
  • Identify topics of interest to area schools and create programs regarding those topics.
  • Affect the chronic issues of asthma, diabetes and obesity in children through education of children, school staff and parents.

Cooper in Schools offers opportunities to access these educational services in a number of ways:

Educational Information Kits - The Educational Information Kit includes fact sheets developed based upon questions from the community during our community events, educational symposiums and educational lectures.  Each section has handouts that can be copied for your classrooms, parents and community members.  There are topics such as MRSA, Concussion, Sports Injuries, ACL Injuries, Shoulder Injuries, Scoliosis, Hip Arthroscopy, and Meniscal Transplant to name a few.

Presentations / In-services – Cooper’s team of experts are always willing to come to your school or have groups visit the hospital for educational experiences.   Whether it is visiting the Trauma area prior to prom season, holding teacher in-services at the school, or speaking to a health class, our team is willing to participate.

Continuing Education – Cooper University Hospital and Cooper in Schools offers a plethora of educational opportunities for the health care provider.  Our educational symposiums offer CME credits, CEU credits from the NATA, and NJ BOE credits for allied health care providers; while our on-line education classes can be accessed by going directly to our website and taking the classes within your own comfort.
