Name: Benjamin D Armstrong Home Town: Guilford, CT High School: Xavier High School, Middletown, CT 1997 College: Georgetown University, BS Biology 2001 Medical School/Previous Residency Training: University of Connecticut, MD 2006 Special Interests: I came to Cooper because of my good impression of the program director, faculty and residents on my interview day- I thought they were friendly and fun people that really knew their Emergency Medicine and I think that was a true assessment. I also liked the proximity to Philadelphia and the location in Camden where there is a patient population with a lot of serious disease and need. I have been happy with my education and experiences in this program. Hobbies: Sailing, skiing (you can see Mt. Washington in the background of my photo skiing Attitash in New Hampshire), attending sporting events and concerts, working on my house (I remodeled the kitchen myself down to the bricks and have much more to do). I am an avid fan of UConn, Georgetown and the Patriots. I have a strong interest in community service, especially building projects in the Appalachian region. I live in a rowhouse in South Philadelphia in the Italian Market with cat. My fiancee is back home in Connecticut, but visits as often as possible. I am looking foward to moving home to Connecticut next summer before our wedding and finding a job there. Career goals: I plan to practice in the community setting. I may become involved with my medical school or a residency program on a limited basis in the future. I have recently become interested in difficult airways/intubations and did an airway elective with an expert anesthesiologist. |
