Emergency Medicine Residency Program

Research

Cooper EM research is regularly presented at national scientific meetings, such as the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians. Cooper EM investigators publish in top-tier medical journals, including the Annals of Emergency Medicine, Academic Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Chest. Funding sources have included the National Institutes of Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Emergency Medicine Foundation, and pharmaceutical and device companies. The Research Division adheres to a mentorship model. Residents are highly encouraged to participate in on-going research under the guidance of a primary mentor and with the assistance of other experienced researchers from the hospital and UMDNJ-RWJMS. Residents routinely present research at local, regional and national meetings.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Drs. Baumann and Boudreaux provide leadership and set the vision for the Division. They provide mentorship to junior faculty, fellows, and residents.
