Giving to Cooper Cancer Institute
If you or a loved one has been touched by cancer, you may be interested in supporting the efforts of Cooper Cancer Institute (CCI). Your support will help advance patient care by:
- Discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer
- Building and equipping the most advanced facilities for patient care and research
- Providing low- or no-cost cancer screenings and education to the community
- Delivering care and providing supportive services to cancer patients and their families
Ways to Give
You can support the Cooper Cancer Institute (CCI) with a tax-deductible charitable gift in a number of ways.
A direct financial gift is the most common and convenient method of donating to CCI. You can choose to make an unrestricted gift, which means CCI will direct your gift where it is most needed, or you can designate your gift to a particular CCI fund (see list below).
Memorial and Tribute Gifts
A donation to CCI is a thoughtful way to celebrate a birthday, wedding, survivorship anniversary or other significant event; to pay tribute to a relative or friend; to thank an outstanding physician or caregiver; or honor the memory of a loved one. Gifts can be made online or by mail.

Cooper Cancer Institute Funds
- The Cooper Cancer Institute Fund (2514) - This fund supports CCI education programs, research efforts and patient assistance services related to all cancer types. It is through this fund that CCI provides support to patients in need. Through the Patients in Need initiative, CCI provides small grants to patients who require financial assistance to cover basic living expenses (rent, utilities and food bills) and expenses related to their care (insurance co-pays, deductibles, etc.). Patient need is evaluated and determined by CCI physicians, nurses and social work staff.
- The Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine Program Fund (2718) - The Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine Program offers cancer patients and their caregivers access to a year-round calendar of activities such as yoga, massage, meditation and creative expression therapies at no cost. These complementary therapies are designed to lessen the pain, stress and anxiety associated with cancer. They also provide assistance in handling the side effects of such traditional treatments as radiation and chemotherapy. The program is wholly funded through the philanthropic support.
- The Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine Program Healing Garden (2718A) - Cooper Cancer Institute’s Dr. Diane Barton Complementary Medicine Program has created a Healing Garden adjacent to the entrance of the Cooper Voorhees building. In addition to providing a quiet space for patients and visitors to relax and reflect, the garden is used to conduct programs such as music and horticultural therapy, support group meetings and educational classes. Donation opportunities include engraved pavers, benches and other garden features.
- Medical Oncology Fund (2512) - The Medical Oncology Fund supports education, outreach and research directed by and in support of the Cooper University Hospital Division of Medical Oncology.
