The Diabetes Weigh: Complete Diabetes Self-Management Training

diabetes care

The core of good diabetes care begins with The Diabetes Weigh, taught by Francine Grabowski MS RD CDE.

In this 6-hour training program, you will learn how food, medication, and exercise affect your blood glucose. Because you will improve your diabetes management, you will decrease the risk of complications. You will learn the best combinations of foods - “The DASH Diet” - to improve your diabetes care, increase energy levels and lose weight (if needed).

The Diabetes Weigh is based on ADA Clinical Practice Recommendations. You will learn comprehensive diabetes care including goal setting, foot care, sick day rules, proper treatment of hypoglycemia, and all about your medications.

Francine Grabowski has provided diabetes training for over 20 years. In addition to her commitment to patients, she also educates doctors and nurses. The author of two books, The Best Diet on Earth and Low Fat Living for Real People, Francine is an expert on coaching people to make lifestyle changes for excellent diabetes care.

Are You on Insulin?

If you are on insulin, you will need individual sessions with Francine Grabowski prior to attending The Diabetes Weigh. In these sessions, you will learn about the activity levels of your insulins, basal and bolus insulin, and hypoglycemia management, with special attention to your lifestyle and medical history.
