Dr. Autum Shingler-Nace joined Cooper University Health Care in October 2023 as Vice President of Surgical and Procedural Operations and transitioned to Chief Nursing Officer in June 2025. As Chief Nursing Officer, Dr. Shingler-Nace oversees nursing operations across both inpatient and ambulatory departments at Cooper, including women's and children's, medical-surgical, perioperative, and procedural services, as well as nursing education, professional practice, and innovation.
Dr. Shingler-Nace has more than 20 years of nursing experience and 15 years of progressive leadership experience. She has served in both hospital and ambulatory leadership roles, in academic and community settings, focusing on clinical and nursing operations, business and strategic operations, and service line roles.
Prior to joining Cooper, Dr. Shingler-Nace served as Vice President of Operations at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, focusing primarily on hospitals within southern New Jersey. In this role, Dr. Shingler-Nace had oversight of the Jefferson Washington Township Campus and primary responsibility for key service lines such as neuroscience, cardiovascular, oncology, and women's and children's. During her time in this role, she received recognition as one of the "Women to Watch" by South Jersey Biz, as well as a Women of Achievement Award for Gloucester County. Dr. Shingler-Nace also held several leadership positions at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center during her career.
Dr. Shingler-Nace is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Executive Leadership, and holds an MBA from Waynesburg University. She is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
