Stuart Gordon, MD, FAAOS, joined the Cooper University Hospital Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, Pa. Previously, Dr. Gordon held the position as co-chief of Orthopaedics at Taylor Hospital. He founded Liberty Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Associates, which later became a division of Premier Orthopaedics. In 1986, he was awarded a fellowship at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, in adult reconstructive orthopaedic surgery, specializing in the surgical treatment of the arthritic hip and knee.
Dr. Gordon is a total-joint replacement surgeon who specializes in innovative strategies in caring for active patients who suffer from advanced arthritis in the Philadelphia and South Jersey region.
Since 2006, he has pioneered specialized joint replacements in the Philadelphia and South Jersey region such as patient specific custom total knee replacements, ceramic, and metal-on-metal hip resurfacing techniques, Birmingham hip resurfacing, muscle-sparing surgery, legion knee replacement, uni-compartmental knee replacement, visionaire knee replacement, and Mako robotic-assisted hip and knee joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Gordon offers a unique multi-modal pain approach that reduces patient’s pain and eliminates post-op nausea. He also utilizes the OrthoPAT System, which virtually eliminates the need for blood transfusions.
He shares a common bond with his hip replacement patients as he received a Birmingham hip resurfacing procedure in March 2011. Dr. Gordon has a special interest in hip and knee replacements, hip and knee revisions, and complex surgeries. Dr. Gordon sees patients in his Cherry Hill and Voorhees, N.J., offices, conveniently located just a short drive from Philadelphia, Marlton and Moorestown.
