About Me

Anna Pancheshnikov, MD, FACOG, serves as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Director of the Center for Global Health and Global Health Education at the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Her areas of expertise include vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery to treat urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence, pelvic fistula and periurethral masses. Her areas of special interest include global health, health equity, reducing health disparities, and medical education and simulation.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Studies with a minor in Latin American and Latino Studies at Brandeis University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and being inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society. Before pursuing her medical career, Dr. Pancheshnikov received a Fulbright fellowship and collaborated with researchers from Santiago, Dominican Republic, to examine knowledge, access, and utilization of mother-to-child HIV transmission resources among pregnant women. 

Dr. Pancheshnikov earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, after which she completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital and a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University. Board-certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she is a fellowship-trained subspecialty surgeon in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery. Throughout her medical education and training, she participated in and led various global health programs and founded an initiative to develop urogynecology education, training, and service in Latin America and the Caribbean.  

Dr. Pancheshnikov has published various peer-reviewed publications, presented her work at numerous national and international academic conferences, held leadership positions, and is an active member of several medical societies and organizations. She is fluent in five languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hebrew.
