Who Is a Provider?

In health care, a provider is a person that you see for medical checkups or health problems. At Cooper, we have many types of providers, each of whom provide specialized medical services:

  • Physician: Doctor of medicine (MD) or osteopathy (DO)
  • Dentist (DMD or DDS)

There are four areas of specialization for APNs: nurse practitioner (NP), certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), clinical nurse specialist (CNS), and certified nurse midwife (CNM).
  • Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Physical Therapist
