About Me

As a licensed clinical social worker, Carlos has an extensive background providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and at-risk families struggling with a variety of mental health and addiction issues, as well as directing several mental health and substance use treatment programs. Since earning his graduate degree from Stony Brook University School of Social Welfare, Carlos has continued to expand his clinical skills, receiving training from the Neuro–Linguistic Programming Center of New York in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy. Furthermore, Carlos has pursued specialized training focusing on trauma, cognitive behavioral therapy, and grief and bereavement therapy.

Vast training and experience allows Carlos to employ an eclectic approach to therapy, providing an individualized approach to tailor treatment to each client’s needs. He incorporates a variety of styles, from psychodynamic to cognitive behavioral, and strengths-based to family systems perspective. Carlos is also a part-time faculty member at Rutgers University–Camden where he teaches child and adolescent clinical courses at the School of Social Work. His credentials include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS).
