I have only met with Pamela twice. After seeing me six times, my previous rheumatologist said he had no idea what was happening to me and ended our relationship. At Cooper, I felt my illness was taken seriously. I quickly had a muscle biopsy and treatment began shortly after. I cannot yet evaluate ideas of compassion etc. I could use some advice about work, such as when people generally take leaves or ideas for accommodations. I don't know what to expect from polymyositis, but perhaps the prognosis is so varied, it's not wise to suggest what may happen to me. So far, I only have great things to say about all the staff I have engaged, except for the staff at Cooper Hospital.
