What was your first job?
My first job was as a physician at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia.
Tell us something about you that people wouldn’t expect.
I am a patient advocate even if some of the patient problems are not related to the condition I am treating.
What inspired you to become a cancer specialist?
My grandmother died in my bedroom of stomach cancer and I felt useless. Also, my father was a doctor and felt insecure about the management of cancer.
What is your essential patient care philosophy?
The patient must understand why we plan to treat them, the possible complications of treatment, and how we plan to give him or her the best quality of life, and they must agree with that plan.
What do you hope your patients say about you to their family and friends?
She is kind, caring, and truthful. She can be trusted and cares about me.
What three words best describe you?
Thoughtful, kind, and involved.
Outside of your family and your work, what are your passions?
Dance, Zumba, caring for and raising plants, travel when time permits, and caring for relatives who need help.
