It is our goal to make your experience with Cooper's Surgery Centers as convenient and as pleasant as possible. You will be treated by a number of medical experts – including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, clinicians and support staff – who are all highly trained and are experienced in taking care of pediatric and adult patients in the OR setting.

One Week Before Surgery
About one week before your surgical procedure, you will receive a telephone call from one of our pre-admission nurses. The nurse will ask about your specific health needs, will make sure you understand the surgery being performed, and will help you prepare for your recovery at home.
During this telephone call, the pre-admission nurse also will make sure you have had all of the pre-operative testing needed, including blood tests, chest X-rays, and any other pre-operative test(s) your surgeon may have prescribed for you.
One Day Before Surgery
You will also receive a telephone call from the Business Office staff the day before your surgery. The staff member will tell you what time you need to report to the Cooper Surgery Center and when your procedure is scheduled to take place.
If your surgery is scheduled for a Monday, you will receive the call on the Friday before your procedure.
Please note that because all emergency and all highly complex surgical procedures are performed at Cooper University Hospital, there are very few delays at the Cooper Surgery Center. Therefore, it is very important that you arrive on time for your appointment. If you do not arrive at the time scheduled, your procedure may need to be moved to another day.
