Older Adult Group Addiction Care

Older adults face unique challenges when it comes to substance use and addiction—and they deserve evidence-based care designed with their needs in mind.

At the Center for Healing, older adults are welcome to join our weekly group program which is facilitated by a double-board certified physician in addiction and geriatric medicine This weekly group program offers a safe, respectful space for people to receive both medical care and therapeutic support. Sessions are structured to combine physician visits with group discussion, all within a welcoming, age-aware environment.

What to Expect:

  • One-on-One Medical Care: During each session, participants meet individually with a provider to address medical concerns, manage their addiction treatment, and adjust treatment plans when necessary.
  • Support with Medications: The Center for Healing’s Older Adult Group Program provides a specially trained pharmacist on-site to assist with complex medication needs.
  • Group Conversation: While individuals are seen by addiction medicine providers, the group explores a weekly topic—ranging from managing grief and isolation to healthy diets to sexual wellness as we age—guided by a licensed therapist.
  • Whole-Person Care: This program treats more than addiction. It addresses the physical, emotional, and social health of older adults in a stigma-free setting.
